[English]

Background and Objectives: Today, to overcome the challenges in the education system, schools need teachers who are knowledgeable and open to change, as they can significantly contribute to the improvement of the education system. Therefore, the purpose of the current research was to study the relationship between psychological ownership and knowledge creation and openness to change in physical education teachers. Methods: This research is applied and correlational, with data collected in the field. The statistical population included 575 physical education teachers of Golestan province in 2022 which sample size was estimated to be 231 teachers based on Cochran's table. A stratified random sampling method was used to select the study sample. To collect the data of this research, three standard questionnaires of psychological ownership, knowledge creation and openness to change were used. The validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by sports management experts and their reliability was calculated in a preliminary study by using Cronbach's alpha as 0.83, 0.77 and 0.86 respectively. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. SPSS 25 and Smart PLS 3 software were used for data analysis. Findings: The findings showed a positive and significant relationship between psychological ownership, knowledge creation, and openness to change in physical education teachers. Also, the mediating role of knowledge creation in the relationship between psychological ownership and openness to change was confirmed. Conclusion: Based on the results, it appears that physical education teachers can play a key role in promoting knowledge creation and embracing fundamental changes in education by developing a sense of psychological ownership, influenced by both individual and organizational factors. Practices such as fostering independence, self-efficacy, and providing opportunities for decision-making in a supportive work environment can enhance their role.
