Evaluating the research performance of faculty members at Farhangian University of Tehran Province: Identifying challenges and providing solutions for their improvement

Abstract
The purpose of the present research is to investigate the performance of research activities of faculty members of Farhangian University of Tehran province; It is so that while examining this performance, we can identify and introduce the most important challenges and solutions. The research data has been collected by using qualitative and quantitative methods and by interview tools and questionnaires in the statistical population consisting of faculty members of Farhangian University in the statistical population of Tehran province. After extracting and descriptively examining the research performance, which was done by documentary method, by conducting targeted and semi-structured interviews with 18 people, they were asked to announce the most important challenges facing the process of their research activities. Then these challenges were categorized and the semantic cores obtained provided the basis for designing a researcher-made questionnaire. After the formal validity of the questions was confirmed by these professors, the questions were administered among 20 professors and the reliability of the questions was 0/87. It was found that the coefficient is acceptable. Then, by conducting a questionnaire among the faculty members, the most important challenges facing the research activities of professors in four groups: infrastructure challenges, personal and professional challenges of professors, organizational challenges and management challenges, as well as the most important effective approaches to solving these challenges. respectively: financial support for research activities, for the admission of postgraduate students, the development and expansion of domestic scientific publications and the creation of suitable conditions for professional research activities were obtained.
