Pathology of the informal curriculum at Farhangian University (Case study of the Cultural Hour)

Abstract

The purpose of this article was to examine and diagnose the informal curriculum of Farhangian University in the form of how to implement cultural hours at Farhangian University. The present study is qualitative in terms of its main strategy and applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive-analytical. The data collection technique is semi-structured interviews, in this context, the 5w1h technique was used to identify and quantify the problems and challenges of implementing cultural hours. The statistical population included cultural experts from all over the country and active cultural students and teachers who were selected through purposeful sampling and snowball method. Raw data was analyzed using MaxQDA2020 software. The research findings indicate that 26 sub-components in the form of 6 main categories are effective in the implementation of the cultural hour, which include: the mechanism and mechanism of implementing the cultural hour program, the duration and day of implementing the cultural hour, hardware platforms and infrastructures, software platforms and infrastructures, obstacles and challenges ahead, as well as operational suggestions and solutions. In this regard, 6 suggestions were put forward to improve the quality and excellence of the cultural hour program, including: 1- Producing content and needs-based programs, trying to attract maximum student teachers, changing and reforming the managers' approach to the cultural field, reducing administrative bureaucracy, and utilizing the capacity of other cultural institutions and institutions.
