Quality Improvement to Farhangian University: Identification of Obstacles and Challenges

Abstract

Background and Objectives: Identifying the obstacles and challenges of Farhangian University's progress towards quality is a necessity. In order to achieve this goal, the method of qualitative content analysis has been used. Methods: The statistical populations in this research included experts who have scientific and research experience in connection with Farhangian University, or had managerial and executive experience. In this research, the purposeful sampling method was used. The data was obtained based on semi-structured interviews with thirteen experts, specialists and administrators of Farhangian University.  Findings: The interview data indicate that these issues and challenges can be categorized under eight general categories, which are: the lack of quality and adequacy of the educational space, the challenge of the academic staff of Farhangian University, the challenge of the recruitment process of teachers, The challenge of the structure and organization of Farhangian University, the challenge of the educational planning and curriculum, the challenge of the macro-policy of the teacher training system, the challenge of training and selection of managers, and the challenge of Quality assurance of teachers. Conclusion: As a conclusion, it can be acknowledged that the quality of Farhangian University, as the center of gravity of teacher training in the country, requires policy-making and legislative measures to remove the mentioned obstacles and challenges.
